DATA SERVICES SALES PROFESSIONAL
I am currently working with a client to fill a senior-level Data Services sales position.  My client has just established a Boston office, so this is an expansion position.  Here are some additional details:
  • COMPANY/INDUSTRY: My client is an established global provider of data services & portfolio analytics solutions for the asset management industry.  They have developed their products in close collaboration with international asset managers.  Product offerings include both data and analytical tools for risk management, fixed income analysis, performance measurement, equity & fixed income attribution analysis, GIPS compliance, and client reporting.  Their organization offers employees above average opportunity for career path growth, especially since this is a new office and they have aggressive growth plans for the North American market.
  • EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Must have a stable work history, successful track record of sales quota achievement, and consultative sales approach.  Ideally, experience selling market data & intelligence to financial institutions; or experience selling some other type of high-value intangible solution/service (consulting & professional services, training & performance improvement, research & advisory services, etc) to financial industry customers.
  • JOB DESCRIPTION: This position is an outside sales role within my client's Data Services division.  This group provides asset managers with access to pricing, terms & conditions and reference data across all asset types, from all markets.  Market data is available on an intra-day, end-of-day, and historical basis.  They provide comprehensive coverage of European, Asian, and North American markets; as well as Corporate Actions including cash/stock/omitted dividends, splits, and consolidations. 
  • COMPENSATION: The compensation package includes a competitive base salary, excellent employee benefits, attractive options, and very competitive performance-based incentives.

PRE-SALES ANALYTICS CONSULTANT
This is another position that we are working to fill with the same employer as the data services sales role described above:
  • COMPANY/INDUSTRY: My client is an establsihed global provider of data services & portfolio analytics solutions for the asset management industry.  They have developed their products in close collaboration with international asset managers.  Product offerings include both data and analytical tools for risk management, fixed income analysis, performance measurement, equity & fixed income attribution analysis, GIPS compliance, and client reporting.  Their organization offers employees above average opportunity for career path growth, especially since this is a new office and they have aggressive growth plans for the North American market.
  • EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Must have strong knowledge of the Investment Management industry.  Prior experience in a pre-sales/consultant role involving financial market data OR experience working as an analyst or asset manager (familiarity with some of the following: performance measurement/ equity & fixed income attribution/ GIPS compliance/ ex-ante risk measurement/ client reporting), with the desire to get into more of a customer-facing role.  Stable work history is also important.
  • JOB DESCRIPTION: This is a customer-facing analytics consultant position, responsible for working with both the sales team and their prospects in a pre-sales support role.  This is also an expansion opening, with significant potential for growth as my client continues to expand their North American operations.

OPEN POSITION: Account Manager/ Capital Markets, NYC Tri-State Area

I am currently working with a very good client to fill an Account Manager position involving the Capital Markets industry.  Here are some additional details:
  • INDUSTRY: My client is an industry leader in providing financial institutions and advisory firms with high-impact information solutions.  Their platform is based on a unique combination of global private & public capital market data; and software applications that enable end-users to draw deep market insights, generate better ideas, optimize relationships, and simplify workflow.  This platform can be deployed as a stand-alone solution; or various components of it's data & tools can be can be seamlessly integrated into customers' existing business applications & portals.  My client's organization offers employees a great team environment & culture, as well as the opportunity for career path growth.
  • EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Bachelors degree required.  Must have strong knowledge of the capital markets, business advisory, and/or asset management industry.  Experience working as an analyst for an institution (hedge fund, investment bank, private equity firm, etc), with the desire to get into an account management role; or already experience in an account management role, working with these types of institutional accounts.  Stable work history is also important.
  • JOB DESCRIPTION: This position is a customer-facing Account Manager role, responsible for managing existing relationships with institutional financial services companies.  Duties will include training end-users and working toward client retention/growth goals.  The role will also provide someone with the chance to utilize financial modeling & analytical skills, within the context of customer-facing training situations.  This is an expansion opening.
  • GEOGRAPHY: After spending the first 2-3 months going to my client's Manhattan-based headquarters for training, most of the account manager's time will be spent working with capital market clients (primarily hedge funds, private equity firms, etc) located north of Manhattan and in Connecticut; so after training, the account manager will have the option of working from home and just going into the office occasionally.
  • COMPENSATION: The compensation package includes a competitive base salary, excellent/above average  employee benefits, and  additional  bonus/incentive opportunity.  Total compensation will conservatively be $70-90K during the ramp-up/learning curve year.  Incentives, to be paid 3 times during the year, are uncapped.
